Zoom

The link to join Zoom is in your registration confirmation email.

Zoom released an update last week. Please update Zoom to ensure optimal performance during the event.

Please note that we will be muting all participants upon entry. All participants are expected to remain mutated unless they need to speak. The host will reserve the right to mute participants if they accidentally unmute themselves or forget to mute themselves after speaking.

Asking Questions:

To ask one of our speakers a question during their talk or the panel discussions, please send the question in a chat message to the session Chair. The host might ask you to unmute yourself if your question needs clarification or elaboration. There will also be time to informally chat with speakers and ask them more questions via Slack or Gather.town throughout the day.

Slack

You can find the link for joining the Slack workspace in the Zoom chat or in the email you received.

We have made a short video that explains how we plan on using Slack during the AIDR and OSS conferences. If you would like subtitles, please click on the CC button at the bottom of the video.
You can also find additional information on how to use Slack on the Slack website.

Gather.town

You can find the link for joining Gather.town in the Zoom chat or in the email you received. Please use Firefox or Chrome as it does not work in Safari.

You will need to leave the Zoom meeting to use Gather.town to avoid interference between the two platforms. We will be monitoring the waiting room throughout the event and will let you back into the Zoom meeting when you want to return.

Please use your real name in Gather.town since it is meant to mimic a name badge at an in-person conference. Once in the aidr-oss space, use your mouse or keyboard to walk around. You will be automatically connected by video and audio when you are in certain proximity to someone else. Follow Gather.town instructions to learn more!

To view a poster or interact with a whiteboard

Poster and whiteboards are objects in Gather.town. When you are next to an object, press X key to view the poster, interact with the presenter and white on the white boards!

Asking for Help or Reporting Technical Issues

You can send messages to #tech-issues on Slack if you need any help with the various platforms or have technical questions.
